WINSTON-SALEM - Brent David, who has been an assistant at some of the top high-school football programs in the state, is the new head coach at Carver.

A native of High Point and former standout linebacker at Appalachian State, David replaces Keith Wilkes, who resigned last month to become the head coach at Shiloh High in Snellville, Ga.

Wilkes had astounding success in 16 seasons at Carver, leading the team to a 139-62-1 record and two NCHSAA 3-A championships. The Yellowjackets reached the state quarterfinals last fall and finished 12-2.
