RMHS tops West Brunswick at The Brittany

WILSON - Rocky Mount's Lady Gryphon soccer team improved to 8-1 on the season with its 4-2 win over West Brunswick in The Brittany V Soccer Showcase in rainy conditions Saturday afternoon. The Lady Trojans fell to 3-6 on the year.
Marissa Ramey, Lauren Campell, Allison Raper and Michelle Barringer scored Rocky Mount's goals while Laney Webb had an assist.
Mariah Evans scored for West Brunswick, which got a goal and an assist from Julianna Zio.
Evans and Rocky Mount's Kelsey Benson were saluted with sportsmanship awards.
