RMHS girls tennis tops Northern Nash, Southern Nash

ROCKY MOUNT - Rocky Mount girls tennis team kept it winning ways up Tuesday with a 9-0 win over Northern Nash. RMHS is now 10-3 overall and 4-1 in league play.
The team also made up an earlier rained out Big East match at Southern Nash last Friday. They left Stanhope with a 5-0 victory after more rain curtailed the match to just singles play.
"Northern is much improved from last year so we played very well to win 9-0," said Rocky Mount head coach Barry Nethercutt. "Lindsay (Thomas) played such a smart match and made some nice adjustments through out her match. Kate (Gray) started with too many unforced errors, but she put together a very clean second set. Margaret (Arroyo) has lost only six individual games in her last six matches, so she gives us some excellent depth."
