RMHS takes out Edenton Holmes in girls tennis
September 23, 2009 Rocky Mount High School
EDENTON - Rocky Mount's girls tennis team traveled to Edenton Holmes Wednesday and came away with a 7-2 victory over the 2-A Lady Aces. Rocky Mount improved to 8-3 for the season with the win.
"This was a good win especially after the disappointment from Fike the day before," said Rocky Mount head coach Barry Nethercutt. "I was really happy to see us win three third set tie-breakers. Tie-breakers can bit a bit about luck but we've had trouble winning close matches and Addie (Keeter), Caroline (Nelson) and Julia (Amend) did that today. I was especially happy with Julia and Addie who lost the first sets but were able to do a few things differently and come back to win."
