Gainey earns CAA status

NASHVILLE - Michael Gainey, Athletic Director at Rocky Mount High School, was recently awarded Certified Athletic Administrator (CAA) status by the National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association (NIAAA) after completing a rigorous application process.
Gainey has been with Nash-Rocky Mount Public Schools for 20 years. He has served as Athletic Director at Rocky Mount High School for the past 10 years and head boys basketball coach for the past 11 years.
He began his NRMPS career at Edwards Middle School as a physical education and Driver's Education teacher and also as a coach for 9th grade boys basketball, 8th grade girls softball and varsity football. He has coached track, junior varsity basketball and served as assistant varsity football coach.
The NIAAA Certified Athletic Administrator Program began in 1988 to provide systematic, professional growth for athletic administrators with high professional standards and an unswerving commitment to their profession.
Within the field of secondary school athletic administration, the CAA certification program promotes professional standards, practices and ethics; encourages self-assessment; improves individual performance; advocates continued professional growth and development; and maximizes benefits received by the CAA professional's school, community and profession. |
